PRINCE2® Project Management Foundation (Version 7) provides an introduction to the key concepts, principles, practices and processes that make up the PRINCE2 Project Management method.

You will learn how the method supports structured project management throughout the project lifecycle and explore the importance of people in delivering successful projects.

The course is suitable for both aspiring project managers and professionals who are already involved in project work and want to develop a stronger understanding of PRINCE2 Project Management.

Learning Objectives

After completing the course, you will have gained an understanding of:

• Key terminology and concepts relating to projects and PRINCE2 Project Management
• The seven PRINCE2 principles and how they underpin the methodology, including continued business justification, learning from experience and clearly defined roles, responsibilities and relationships
• The importance of people in successful project management
• The seven PRINCE2 practices, including business case development, team organisation, planning, risk management, quality, issue management and progress tracking
• The seven PRINCE2 processes and how they are carried out throughout the project lifecycle, from starting and initiating a project to controlling stages, managing product delivery, managing stage boundaries, directing and closing the project

Course Format

The course is delivered as self paced eLearning, allowing you to study at a time and pace that suits you.

The estimated study time is approximately 12 hours.

The course is suitable for project professionals, aspiring project managers and other professionals involved in designing, managing or delivering projects.

It may also be relevant for roles such as team managers, business analysts and others who work closely with project teams.

Prerequisites

No previous knowledge of PRINCE2 Project Management is required.

A basic understanding of project management can be helpful but is not a prerequisite for taking the course.

Exam and Certification

The PRINCE2® Project Management Foundation exam is included in the course.

The exam consists of 60 multiple choice questions and must be completed within 60 minutes. It is a closed book exam and a score of at least 60% is required to pass.

Successful completion of the exam leads to the PRINCE2® Project Management Foundation certification.
